As a patient at Lake Area Psychiatry, you will receive a comprehensive assessment from our team, including psychiatric nurse practitioners and therapists. This assessment may include the use of pharmacogenetic testing, which analyzes how your genes may affect your response to commonly prescribed medications for depression, anxiety, and other mental health conditions. This testing provides your clinician with valuable information about which medications may require dose adjustments, may be less effective for you, or may have a higher risk of side effects based on your genetic makeup.
Afterward, we will formulate a personalized treatment plan tailored to your unique mental health needs. This plan may include medication management, therapy, or a combination of both to ensure the best possible outcomes. With your permission, we will collaborate with your complete medical team, including your primary care provider, to ensure coordinated care. We also recognize that many patients value family involvement in their treatment, and we are happy to include them in the process when appropriate.
In addition to outpatient services provided at our office, our physicians also offer inpatient treatment at CHRISTUS Ochsner St.Patrick Hospital in Lake Charles, ensuring continuity of care across all settings.
